About Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology

The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution is now offering a new Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology (MXET) program. Based on its strengths in electronic systems, mechanical/manufacturing systems and applied research activities, the department is well-positioned to offer such a multidisciplinary curriculum. Currently, the program is offering two focus areas: Mechatronics and STEM Educator.

The Mechatronics focus area emphasizes course and laboratory work in mechanics, electronics, embedded intelligence systems, control andcommunications. The STEM Educator focus prepares the student to graduate with a B.S. degree while completing coursework that prepares the graduate to become certified in engineering, math and physical science at the secondary education level.
