Texas A&M University is leading the second stage of a science mission to learn more about hypersonic flight. Aerospace engineering graduate students have had the unique experience of contributing to the unprecedented flight experiment, BOLT II.

Doctoral student Santosh Ganji is working to enable 5G millimeter wave wireless communication through novel beam management. His technology maintains a backup non-line of sight beam to avoid blockages that occur in indoor and outdoor environments.

Rebecca and Paul Griffin have established the Rebecca and Paul Griffin ’95 Endowed Scholarship. Distributions from this endowment will be used to provide one or more scholarships to full-time students involved in student organizations pursuing an undergraduate degree in ocean engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station or Galveston, Texas.

For the third consecutive year, Texas A&M University’s Society of Automotive Engineers Aero Design team placed first in the Regular Class at the Aero Design East competition. They also brought home fourth place in the Micro Class this year.

Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC has established the Department of Ocean Engineering Laboratory for Dredging and Coastal Studies Renovation Fund. This fund will be used for the renovation of the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Laboratory for Dredging and Coastal Studies.

The chemical engineering department is home to many faculty who have received prestigious awards this year for the impact of their research. These award highlights are among others the department has received as its faculty continue to strive for excellence.

The Texas Aimbots, Texas A&M University’s premier robotics team, placed second at the 2022 RoboMaster North American competition in the three-versus-three category after a long process of designing, manufacturing and testing its robots.

The Classens have established the Kristina ’91 and Billy Classen ’93 Civil Engineering Endowed Scholarship. This endowment will provide one or more scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Dr. Thomas Overbye presents an approach for the inclusion of weather information in the power flow of the grid that does not require substantial changes to existing algorithms and is expandable moving forward.

The graduate program in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University is ranked fifth among public institutions by U.S. News & World Report. Several of the students who make up this program received recognitions this academic year for their achievements.
